I’m not sure if I should talk to an attorney.

If you are not sure, feel free to contact us.  It is better to know for sure and can give you peace of mind.  If there is a legal issue that you should consider, we will let you know what it is and how we can help you.

How long will it take to resolve the issue I’m dealing with?

There are many factors that affect the time necessary it takes to reach a resolution.  It depends on the nature of the case.  If your case involves a lawsuit, whether it is in State court or Federal court may also be a factor.  Our goal, however, is to pursue your claims zealously, and at the same time, in an efficient and cost-effective way.

I tried to resolve my legal issue on my own, but I didn’t get anywhere. What is the next step?

We recommend you speak with an attorney to find out what your current options are; there are many factors that affect the time it takes to reach a resolution

What are the advantages of hiring an attorney?

We can help you resolve your issue more smoothly.  Our knowledge and experience of specific legal areas and the legal process in general allow us to advise you of your rights as well as any risks in pursuing your claims.  Also, if you have a legal representative, you can avoid having to deal with the other side, which can reduce your stress and worry.  As your legal representative, we correspond with the other side, attend all court hearings and conferences on your behalf, and provide you with regular updates.  This way, you do not have to worry.

Do you charge for a consultation?

Generally, the first consultation to determine the issues and how we can help you is free.

What should I bring to the first consultation?

You can bring notes that summarize your issue and any questions you may have.  Also, you should bring all documents, emails, letters, correspondence, and any other information related to your issue.  That will allow the consultation to be more effective and enable us better understand how we can help you.

How much will your services cost me?

For most services, other than personal injury and immigration, there is an hourly charge.  Because each case is different and the amount of time necessary to reach a resolution varies, please contact us to specifically discuss your case.

Can I pay with a credit card?

We accept credit card payments.

I’m not sure which attorney to talk to for my issue.

Discussing your case with an attorney is often the first step in finding the attorney that is right for you.  Feel free to contact us.  If your issue is outside our practice areas, we can sometimes refer you to an attorney that specializes in that area.

What if I’m not currently in Hawaii or the U.S., can you still help me?

It depends on the case. For immigration cases, we can assist you even if you are outside of Hawaii or the U.S. For other cases, even if you are not in Hawaii or the U.S., it may be possible to represent you using phone, email, or other means of communication. To discuss further, please contact us.

What if I’m busy during the week and unable to travel to your office downtown?

We can schedule a phone conference to discuss your case so that you do not have to travel downtown.  If you are unable to meet during our regular business hours, we may be able to schedule a meeting in the evening or during the weekend.

If I make an appointment with you, where do I park?

We offer validated parking in the building.  Please contact us for more information.
